Hugh Jones Solicitors raised more than £2,000 for charity throughout 2021’s Will Aid campaign.
Will Aid – the UK’s leading charity will-writing scheme – sees solicitors from across the UK offer their time and expertise without charge to give everyone the opportunity to make or update their basic Will. Services are carried out in return for a donation to support a selection of UK and global charities.
Organisations supported by Will Aid include ActionAid, Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, NSPCC, Save the Children, Sightsavers, SCIAF (Scotland) and Trocaire (Northern Ireland).
The scheme runs again in November 2022 and will provide the opportunity for many more people in need of a Will to come forward and manage their affairs, whilst at the same time supporting nine of the UK’s best-loved charities.
Charlotte Crawford, senior associate in the firm’s private client team, commented on the success of the campaign:
“The 2021 Will Aid campaign was a very busy time for us at the firm and our team wrote 22 Wills for clients. We are proud to have played our part and delighted that the people of Manchester have responded so well.
“There are many benefits to making a Will – ensuring that your loved ones are taken care of long into the future; controlling how your money, possessions and property are divided up; minimising inheritance tax. Hugh Jones Solicitors are specialists in writing Wills, and our dedicated team has over 40 years’ combined experience. The team are all qualified lawyers and we have considerable experience of administering estates and running trusts meaning that we draft Wills based on ‘real-life’ understanding of how they operate in practice.”
