The role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced senior solicitor to join our Private Client team.   The role is for someone working at Senior Associate / Director / Partner level at their current firm, who would like to develop their career and experience. The role is full time and on a hybrid working basis (see further below).

Reporting to Head of Department, Charlotte Crawford, the successful candidate must have at least 6 + years of good quality private client experience and experience of supervising other lawyers. 

Requirements

The successful candidate will be STEP qualified and able to undertake all aspects of Private Client work including:

• Complex wills and future planning;
• Advice on the use of trusts, particularly in respect of protection of assets and provision for disabled family member
• Management of trusts, including trust accounts and tax returns
• High value probate and estate administration

We have a large volume of Private Client work, some of it complex and very technical, often with a mental capacity element.

The successful candidate will help supervise our excellent team of less experienced lawyers.

Clients

Work will include daily contact with clients, their families and carers; you will give advice on a wide range of practical and legal issues.

Our clients include those referred to the team from the Court of Protection team – Wills, statutory wills and Administration of Estates alongside clients referred to us from other law firms seeking specialist help, from other professionals and through our website.

Current team

The current team of 6 solicitors, two trainee solicitors and one paralegal is supported by 2 dedicated secretaries.

We work on a hybrid basis, with all members of the firm in the office at least one day per week - the mix of home/office is adjusted to suit the individual and the needs of the team they work in; we envisage that the successful candidate in this role will work in the office two days a week. Salary range: Commensurate with experience and dependent upon qualifications
