Rebecca Brown

Rebecca is a Director and Head of Expert Witness at Hugh Jones Solicitors.  In April 2022, Rebecca took over responsibility for Business Development at HJS and she will be focused on the firm’s growth – both in terms of developing new clients and further building awareness of the firm's services.  Rebecca is part of the firm's management team, working closely with Managing Director Liz Hughes, FD Jon Miller and Operations and Compliance Director, Jenny Roberts.

Rebecca specialises in all aspects of Court of Protection and Mental Capacity work, including advising on the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and acting as an Expert Witness on Court of Protection matters, on the instruction of both Defendants and Claimants, in high value personal injury and clinical negligence cases. As a Director of the Hugh Jones Trust Corporation Limited, Rebecca acts as Deputy for those who have lost capacity due to traumatic accidents, birth injury, illness or learning disability. This commonly involves the management of significant funds which are utilised to fund care and multi-disciplinary rehabilitation packages, specialist equipment and property purchases/ adaptation projects. Rebecca is committed to delivering the empowering ethos of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and ensuring that the protected party is placed at the heart of decision-making.
