Laura joined Hugh Jones Solicitors Court of Protection team in June 2019. Laura works closely with Liz Hughes to assist with the management of deputyships for our clients who lack capacity both prior, during and following litigation proceedings.
Prior to joining Hugh Jones Solicitors, Laura completed her Law degree at Manchester Metropolitan University and is now studying to become a Chartered Legal Executive. Laura has several years of experience working in the Court of Protection for vulnerable clients who have a brain injury or a mental illness such as dementia and is a Dementia Friend. Laura knows the challenges clients who lack capacity, and their families, can face and is dedicated to delivering excellent client care. Laura also spent time working in mental health law, assisting with representing clients with mental illnesses detained under The Mental Health Act in Mental Health Tribunal proceedings and has a sound understanding of how the law protects and safeguards vulnerable individuals in society.
