This vacancy

We are seeking to recruit a full time, experienced paralegal for our Court of Protection (COP) team.

The paralegal will work with one of one of our Solicitor teams provide support to one or two solicitors:

o   Attending client meetings (Video meetings at present)to take notes and to action matters arising

o   Research and drafting, including letters, court applications, witness statements et cetera.

o   Liaising with clients, the court and other professionals to assist the solicitor team.

o   Attending Court with solicitors or Counsel

After two years as a paralegal, training contracts are available for those doing well in the paralegal role, no further application process will be required.

The successful candidate will have at least 12 months experience of Court of Protection work, as a paralegal. You will need to have successfully completed either a law degree or the PGDL.

As a specialist Court of Protection practice, we provide in house, bespoke training for all members of the firm in which you will be able to participate.  We have a strong ethos of internal recruitment with plenty of opportunity for internal development and progression to other roles.

Working practices and Covid-19

Since March 2020, 90% of our employees have been working successfully from home and our business has continued to do well throughout this period, with increasing work volumes.

We have reorganised our office to provide socially distanced and safe working environment; for this role, you will be working in the office during your induction period and thereafter, likely to be a mix of home and office working, depending on government restrictions. We will assist with set up of your home office.

Interviews for this position will be held on Microsoft teams.

Meetings and training are held over Microsoft teams and we are a running a full service for our clients.

Salary:          From £20,000, depending on experience
