As a boutique firm 95% of our work is for vulnerable clients and their families. We have around 60 employees working both from home and from our office at the Deva City Office Park, Manchester.
We are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our busy Accounts Team (currently 6). Ideally suited to someone with some accounts and/or purchase ledger experience, preferably in a professional services environment. The role will report to the Senior Legal Cashier and will centre primarily on the accounts payable side and a variety of tasks required to support the 600+ client deputyship bank accounts.
other conveyancing searches then allocating to the individual file ledgers
o Sorting and filing the bank statements
o Reconciling around half of these to our own records
o Investigating and resolving any differences found
o Recording regular bank transactions to our own records
You will need to be numerate and accurate and able to demonstrate a keen attention to detail. You should enjoy working in a team and have strong communication skills.
The role will develop over time and may include some further legal accounts work.
Working practices and Covid-19
Since March 2020, most of our employees have been working successfully from home and our business has continued to do well throughout this period, despite increasing work volumes.
We have now reorganised our office to provide a socially distanced and safe working environment and have evolved to a position where most team members will work from home some of the time (depending on their role and experience) and we expect this to be our long term working practice going forward.
Many meetings, both internal and external, are held over Microsoft teams.
