Do we need to see clients face to face to make a will?
We always need to see new will clients so that we can make sure that there isn't a fraud taking place - someone who is stealing an identity.
We also have to make sure that the client has 'capacity' - sufficient knowledge and understanding to be able to make a will which again, can only be assessed by speaking to someone.
We are still offering video appointments for all clients. You will need to have photo ID (e.g., a passport or bus pass) that you can show us on the video link and scan in/forward to us. Alternatively, if you are unable to do a video call, we can offer appointments in the office (and we ask you to bring your passport, driving licence or bus pass with you). We are still taking precautions such as maintaining social distancing and wearing face coverings and we kindly ask you to do the same. Due to thorough cleaning between meetings in the office, appointments will be limited.
I'm afraid that we are not able to prepare a will unless we can see you in person or via video call - however we will be happy to discuss your circumstances with you. Please call us on 0161 871 3680 or use the contact us form and we will call you back, to discuss further.
